I love the stylized sun idea, or the mermaid! Are you going to have your students work on this, or will you do it yourself? Can't wait to see pics when you finish.

I love mosaics! It sure has been a long time since I have done one. I would love to offer my two cents but to really say, I would need to see the table. When I am making a decision like that I try to let the piece and its new home to be tell me. So put your table where you plan to use it and just visualize all the options you have.
Inka- I am keeping this one for myself- something I don't do very often. It's new home will be on the deck. I will post a picture of it.
